Adventist Peace Radio, Episode 38: Quarterly Podcast Series Introduction

Welcome to Adventist Peace Radio, the podcast of the Adventist Peace Fellowship. This episode is an introduction to the special series that will be running over the next three months—July through September 2019. Each week we will be sharing a conversation to accompany the Quarterly lesson study guide, which is titled “The Least of These.”

Nathan Brown, Lisa Diller, and Jeff Boyd co-host the series, and most episodes will also feature a special conversation partner.

Nathan wrote both the lesson study and the companion book for this quarter, so his additional commentary is much appreciated. In fact, this project grew out of a conversation we had about his book Engage, which was back in episode 24. 

Nathan Brown is book editor at Signs Publishing Company in Melbourne, Australia. He is author or editor of 16 books, as well as hundreds of articles in Adventist and other publications around the world. He has degrees in law, literature, English and writing, and he recently completed a Masters of Theology and Justice through Kilns College.

Lisa Diller, PhD, was an APF Board Member for a number of years before transitioning to her new position as Peace Church Network Coordinator. She teaches early modern world history at her alma mater, Southern Adventist University in Tennessee. Though raised on a farm in rural West Virginia, she learned to love the city while earning her PhD at the University of Chicago and researching her dissertation in London. In addition to seventeenth century religion and politics, Lisa enjoys service and activism in her urban neighborhood and ministry in her local church, The Well, which she helped start with her husband Tommy in 2008. Lisa’s academic credentials enable her to talk about history and politics—but her passion is learning how to be part of the kingdom of God.
