Adventist Peace Radio, Episode 12: Internships

In this episode Jeff Boyd interviews three Adventist peacemakers who had internships this summer—Rebecca Murdock, Rebecca Sauls, and Tiffany Llewellyn. Think of this as a back-to-school episode for those interested in using their education to make a meaningful and positive difference. The internships cover diverse ground: congregational conflict transformation, international research, and community organizing.

Rebecca Murdock is working on her M.A. in Theological Studies at the Andrews University Seminary. Her interests include helping students discover their strengths and vocation through the Undergraduate Leadership Program at Andrews, and also assisting with the circulation of the Andrews University Seminary Studies (AUSS) theological journal. She is also involved with the Adventist Muslim Friendship Association on campus. She lives with her amazing husband of three years, J. Murdock, and they will be returning to work for Adventist church in Boulder, Colorado, after graduation in May, 2018. Her internship was with The Colossian Forum, a ministry that helps congregations communicate about difficult topics.

Rebecca Sauls earned Bachelors degrees in Religion and Theology from Oakwood University and a Masters of Social Work from Andrews University. She is currently a Crisis Clinician at Volunteer Behavioural Health. She has a passion for helping people, traveling the world, and walking outside barefoot. Rebecca’s internship was in Spain through The Intern Group.

Tiffany Llewellyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works as an Intensive In-home Clinician at Yale University with children and adolescents diagnosed with severe psychiatric disorders. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Medgar Evers College and later earned her Master of Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work, specializing in work with Children, Youth and Families. Additionally, Tiffany loves youth ministry and is currently serving as Assistant Executive Youth Coordinator and Young Adult Coordinator for the Northeastern Conference. Tiffany is the CEO and Founder of a nonprofit organization, Adventists for Social Justice, which is a young-adult led movement focused on activating Adventists for Activism in our marginalized communities. Tiffany’s internship was with MoveOn. And just so you know, Jeff is a former Republican who is now an independent. You’ll soon see how that fits into their conversation.
